Hi Carlo!

Thanks for your quick reply! I really appreciate it!

I have gone to Safe Mode and have completely uninstalled my NVIDIA driver with the program called Display Driver Uninstaller (Clean and Restart option). After that I restarted my computer and then installed an older driver for my graphic card from July (just to check if the issue persist). Unfortunately, after I restarted my computer again, I still have the issue. I have also tried to install the newest driver version again, but that did not help either.

When it comes to the exact model of my computer, my system model is MS-7C75 and system manufacturer is Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. This is my motherboard that I am using: MPG-Z490-GAMING-PLUS. The monitor I have is Asus ROG Swift PG258Q, which has G-Sync. Do you know if it has something to do with G-Sync? I want to mention that I have G-Sync off, but I still have the issue anyway. Is there a way to restore/reset the monitor? I have tried to reset all my system settings on my monitor in System Setup, but it did not solve my issue... This problem is so annoying and I just want to get rid of it :(

Best regards,

Amar

Hi, I do not have the red shadow issue. If I changed to the light mode, the text does not have the red shadow.

Good Day Amar,

I apppreciate your time getting back to this thread, if it all else fails you may consider to perform clean installation, save all your important files in a external drive tp prevent any data lost and proceed with the clean installation.

Hi again!

Sorry for late response!

I have some BIG updates! I have done everything and also cleaned/reinstalled my Windows 10, but the issue is still there. Before we conclude that something is wrong with my monitor, I want to say something really important first.

I work from home right now. I use a docking station to be able to connect my monitor and other devices to my laptop (laptop for work). The strange thing that I have noticed is:

When my monitor is connected to the docking station for like 4 hours or more, the red shadow/color/fuzz/blur is going away totally! This is the only way to get rid of it (what I know). Observe that this red shadow does not go away directly as soon as I connect my monitor to the docking station because I have to have my monitor connected to the docking station for some hours (like 4 hours or more). Unfortunately, after I have connected my monitor back to my stationary computer again (after a working day), the issue comes back again after some time (1 hour). This is not something that happens by coincidence since I have experienced this (the same thing) every day. Why is this happening and what is going wrong?

Remember that I have cleaned/reinstalled my Windows 10, which says that it has nothing to do with the software. Also, after a working day when the red shadow has gone away, I have tried to not use the monitor for some hours (turned it off). Then when I turned it back on again and connected it to my stationary computer, the red shadow is not there directly. This means that it has nothing to do with the heat either (I could also feel that the monitor was cold)! However, at that time when I still kept my monitor connected to my stationary computer for like 1 hour, the issue came back again...

UPDATE : Looks like the red shadow issue is actually not something that only occurs for text. I can see when I look closely that it looks like a pixel line issue that is faded on my monitor. By faded I mean that the pixel line issue is most visible on far left, but on far right it is not visible (on same y-position height). However, it is hard to see the pixel line issue when not having text (on that y-position where the pixel line issue is) since it is only noticeable on text (when red color shadow shows). One more thing that I have tried after a working day (when the red shadow/pixel line issue has gone away) is that I have avoided connecting my monitor to my stationary computer (one time). Instead I have tried to connect my monitor to a third computer, and then I still get the red shadow/pixel line issue after some time (like 1 hour later)! Does this mean that it is something wrong with my monitor or the adapter I am using for my monitor? Why I am thinking that the cause could be my adapter is because maybe there is some power issues? Has the docking station (which I have used for work) damaged my monitor or something because the docking station has given some power through the DP cable to my monitor somehow? The strange thing is that the red shadow/pixel line issue disappears after 4 hours or more after I have connected my monitor to the docking station... Or Is there a G-sync problem with my monitor?

Some stuff that I have done this week to try to solve the problem (just so that you know) are:

- I have tried to remove my graphic card from my motherboard and cleaned it a bit, but still get the red shadow/pixel line issue
- I have
cleared CMOS (Reset BIOS), but still get the issue.

- I have also tried to use a completely different cable (used HDMI) and even then I have this red shadow/pixel line issue as well, which means that it has nothing to do with the cable.

I have never experience something like this before. This is the strangest issue that I have ever had. If someone knows something more about this issue or may have a solution to it, please let me know. I appreciate all your help and the willing to help me out. I just want the issue to be resolved as quickly as possible of course!

Best regards,

Amar

Hello again!

I have updated my latest response above. I have investigated the issue even more which excludes more things of what the cause of the issue could be. I had it wrong when I told that the issue do not occur on other computers (I am so sorry for that). The issue occurs on other computers as well (in the same way as it does for my stationary computer), meaning that it has nothing to do with my stationary computer. However, I still do not know what the issue is since I still have it, but I mention some important things above. Please look at my entire response above again and let me know if you have any solutions to this annoying issue...

Best regards,

Amar
